WITH two performances already sold out, St Cuthbert’s Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society are still asking for ‘more’ as they bring family favourite Oliver! to the stage this week.

The Burnley company, at St Cuthbert’s Community Centre, Sharp Street, are producing the classic musical until Saturday with Friday and Saturday nights’ performances already sold out. As the show is a popular choice with families, the group have added a matinee on Saturday to the run, at 2pm, in addition to nightly performances at 7.15pm.

Ben Holden plays they title role with Thomas Halstead as Oliver’s pal The Artful Dodger, Helen Pollard as Nancy and Kevin Astley as Fagin.

Richard Parrish plays the menacing Bill Sykes, while Robin Reid plays Mr Bumble and Heather Nicholas plays Widow Corney.

A spokesman said: “The show is under the direction of Susan Barrett, Janet Gilbert, choreography with Janis Condon and the musical direction is under the baton of Brian Townend with Margaret Wrigley our rehearsal pianist.”

All the classic songs will feature, such as Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Reviewing The Situation, Food Glorious Food and more.
