A THEATRICAL tribute will be paid by members of Ribchester Amateur Theatrical Society – RATS to entertainment magazine the Radio Times as it celebrates 90 years since its first publication.
Written and directed by RATS’ member Keith Flood, the production at Ribchester Village Hall from Friday to Sunday, November 1 to 3, is described as ‘not a play, nor a cabaret, but a celebration’.
RATS tribute to the world of radio will include excerpts, old and new sketches, music and interviews reflecting the entertainment radio has given and continues to give today.
A spokesman said: “We hope you may find one of your own favourites in the show. And it’s not just a wallow in the past, by any means, as current programmes are also well represented.
“Hope to see you there.”
Radio Times has been produced by Robin Simmons, and features Dave Procter, Anne Lang, John Royle, Will Thomas and RATS newcomer Katria Lipscombe Ridley on stage as well as Keith and Robin.
Performances begin at 7.45pm – with the bar open from 7.15pm. Tickets cost £6 and are available by calling 01254 878530.
