For those of us old enough to remember Tommy Cannon & Bobby Ball were the genuine X-Factor of Saturday nights.
Back in the 1980s the former Oldham welders were pulling in audiences between 15 & 18 million.
They definitely do not make audiences like that anymore but the paying audience at the Darwen Libary Theatre were treated to a selection of sketches, gags and a very frank Q&A session that some former stars would shy away from.
With tales of their rise from the club circuit to rubbing shoulders with royalty and the top of the tree of British showbiz, there was still time for plenty of laughs and sing-alongs with two of the warmest and funniest men about. What more do you want from a Thursday night in October?
You’ll do for me mucker!
