A TRADITIONAL dance band who took folk to the Middle East are to play a rare local event next Saturday.
The Union Street Band will play at a charity ceilidh at Osbaldeston’s Horse Riding Centre in the Ribble Valley.
In March, the band travelled to Amman, Jordan to play four shows, including one in front of members of the Jordanian royal family and the British Ambassador.
The band includes fiddle player Julian Taylor, guitarist Richard Moss and bass player Seamus Heffer-nan.
The event will take place in the Equestrian Centre’s main arena. Other activities include a Bucking Bronco competition and a hog roast. There will be licensed bar.
Tickets are £12.50 and will be available on the door, next Saturday, July 20, from 7.30pm.
Proceeds will be divided between the Friends of Balderstone School and the redecoration fund of St Leonard’s Church, Balderstone.
