Students and staff at St Mary’s College are today celebrating excellent results.
Our class of 2017 have once again achieved outstanding grades and are going on to top universities. Our A Level cohort scored a superb 99% pass rate, alongside our Vocational courses that gained a perfect 100%. 71% of A Levels were passed with high grades whilst 77% high grades were achieved in the Vocational courses, setting a new high at this threshold.
Most importantly perhaps, students have secured places at universities of their first choice, including some of the most prestigious in the country.
Commenting on this year’s success, Jenny Singleton, Interim Principal, said
“I am absolutely delighted with St Mary’s A Level and Vocational results. The A Level pass rate is excellent at 99%, with 71% of students achieving high grades. The Vocational pass rate is an outstanding 100%, 77% of students achieving high grades. Significant numbers of our students have achieved either a triple Distinction* or 3 or more A Levels at A* or A and will now progress to some of the country’s top universities. For those not wishing to attend university, I am delighted that so many of our students have secured excellent employment or apprenticeship opportunities. I would like to pass on my congratulations to all our students and their families and wish them well for the future. I would also like to thank our dedicated staff for their commitment to and support of our students”.
St Mary’s has continued its improvements of recent years and is looking forward to further enhancing life’s opportunities for a new set of students in the forthcoming academic year.
