TIME is running out for people to get entered into the Lancashire Telegraph Schools Awards.
The awards recognise pupils, staff, teachers and support staff in East Lancashire for outstanding achievements.

With the deadline for nominations being less than a week away, schools are encouraged to put themselves or other worthy candidates forward.
This Friday, May 20 is the final date for receiving entries.
Cllr Dave Harling, Blackburn with Darwen Council executive member for schools, said: “I am happy that the Lancashire Telegraph is running these awards as a way to recognise schools.”
“I would encourage any staff members within schools to take part because this is not just about teaching staff.
“There are plenty of other staff who contribute to the work and life of schools and who should be noticed.”
“As an executive member, I am aware that there are some fantastic schools doing some fantastic work, so it would be great if colleagues would nominate them.”
Teachers, parents, governors, pupils and those with knowledge of a particular school can put forward entries.
All schools within the boroughs of Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale and Chorley are welcome to enter.
Individuals or institutions can enter more than one category, though this should be made clear on the entry form.
The overall sponsor for the awards is UCLan, who will also sponsor the Lifetime Achievement Award.Dr Jo Heaton-Marriott, head of communications and engagement at UCLan, said: “The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is delighted to once again sponsor the Lancashire Telegraph’s Schools Awards.”
Other individual category sponsors include: Myerscough College, Nelson and Colne College, Key Stage, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, BAE, Alpha Digital Networks, First Class Learning, Tiny Pixles, Precious Moments Childcare and Teaching Personnel.

All applications will be considered and entrants using the official form agree to accept the judges’ decision as final.
