NELSON town crier Coun Tony Beckett read the Royal proclamation at midday on Saturday simultaneously with other town criers in the country.
The Royal proclamation was written by the Loyal Company of Town Criers to mark the Queen’s Jubilee and a copy made on parchment paper was sent to her majesty along with a list of where the proclamations had taken place.
