CHILDREN in East Lancashire are being treated to Diamond Jubilee inspired lunches as school meals staff have cooked up some Royal recipes.
To celebrate the Queen’s 60th year on the throne Lancashire County Council's school meals service has created a Big Diamond Jubilee School Lunch.
Before breaking up for half term, primary school pupils will have the chance to put on a crown, grab a Union Flag napkin and sit down to a special lunch fit for a queen – outside if the weather is fine.
The specially designed menu includes a bite-sized British burger, mini hotdog, pizza triangle, mini corn on the cob, a selection of fresh salad and a decorated Jubilee cake.
The Big Diamond Jubilee School Lunch will be open to all pupils, including those who do not usually take school dinners.
