BREWERIES in East Lancashire are joining in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations with some special tipples.
Microbrewery Three B’s, in Blackburn, has produced a one-off 50 barrel brew to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee called Ju BEE lee.
The 4.2% ABV ruby bitter has sold well already and around 90 per cent of the 32,000 pints has been snapped up by local pubs.
Thwaites Brewery in Blackburn has given one of its popular guest ales a regal makeover to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.
Fine Rain has undergone an opportunistic overhaul as ‘Fine Reign’ to mark the occasion.
The 4.1% ABV golden ale offers drinkers a light, zesty and malty flavour with a marmalade fruity finish.
Lee Williams, of Thwaites, said: “This is a popular ale and already has some loyal fans, so we’re hoping it will now gain some royal ones too. It is great we can offer our customers a beer that is topical and what better way to toast the Jubilee than with a pint of Fine Reign.” And Moorhouses Brewery in Burnley has rebadged five of its most popular blends for the Jubilee festivities.
Sarah Crolla-Barker said: “We have renamed five of our blends ‘Jubilee Sparkle’. The five ales offer a range of percentages to suit all tastes. We are seeing an increase in the number of pubs taking it.”
