TOLLS could be introduced to cut congestion on the M62 between Liverpool and Manchester if new recommendations are taken up.
Following studies by transport specialists it has been suggested road charging as the main solution to tackling increasing traffic volumes.
The research was commissioned by the Highways Agency and has also been seen by the Northern Way, which is made up of the three northern regional development agencies.
