THIS is a football team who scored success 70 years ago.

Their old elasticated shorts reach to their knees and their jerseys and socks are all lengths and sizes — but it was 1940 after all.

These young lads won’t care, though. For after lining up for the camera, their line up on the pitch was good enough to win the Junior Schools Championship shield in Blackburn.

The lads were from Moss Street School and they enjoyed a 3-1 result over St Joseph’s in the knock-out final.
