THE train leaving Blackburn station here in 1962 was the regular Hellifield service.
The engine driver, seen here leaning out talking to two young passengers, was Stan Woods, who worked on the railways in the 1950s and 60s.
The picture has been sent in by his grandson Steven Mulrooney, who remembers doing a run with his grandfather on the footplate.
He said: “I don’t know who these two lads are but it would be interesting to see if readers know.”
