RAWTENSTALL Amateur Dramatic Society staged ‘Kiss Me Kate’ in the autumn of 1969 – can you spot any local actors you remember?

The choreography was by Gladys McDonald, and the orchestra was directed by Frank Horne. With 17 scenes, the backstage workers, under stage manager Sid Gill, were very hard pressed during the week-long production at the public hall in Haslingden.

Some of those who had parts in the show included Des Connolly and Rose Morris, who took the two leads, Don Howcroft and Sylvia Davenport.

Then there was Michael Metcalfe, Stanley Whittaker, Jean Place, Stephen Laird, Douglas Sutcliffe and David Ward.

We’d love to see any of your photographs from old local dramatic society shows over the years – and hear the stories from backstage.
