IN 1966 East Lancashire ballet dancers were on their toes to win trophies at Blackburn Ballet Festival.
Care and attention to detail won Judith High, of Great Harwood, the main Blackburn ballet trophy, according to adjudicator Doreen Bird.
A capacity audience at the Community Theatre saw the youngster dance to success in the final night of the section competition.
Doreen also believed there was an obvious future' in dance for 17-year-old Eileen Reeve, of Nelson, who won five trophies and shared another.
And Pauline Plant was a Turkish delight' - an indication of the type of dance the Nelson girl performed - to win the 11 to 13-year-old final.
