CAR enthusiasts among you might recognise this Austin 24 pictured on the road from Hoghton Bottoms in the forties.
Although the road had been asphalted, there were still cobbles down one side for the local horse and carts.
The shiny motor had been in Syd Smith's taxi fleet, until one of his drivers Frank Ormerod bought it to set up in business on his own.
Frank's dad Arthur had also been a chauffeur for the taxi business on the Boulevard, while having second jobs as drivers on the local Ribble buses.
We've been told that Arthur was also the first ever driving instructor for BSM in Blackburn.
