THIS season sees a massive resurgence of 1970’s fashion. From casual to evening wear, the psychedelic seventies influence is everywhere on the high street.

For me, the 70s can be summarised into three main fashion groups: disco, glam rock and punk and boho hippy, which can be just as wearable in 2015.

I have to admit, anything to do with 1970s disco is my guilty pleasure. And it’s exactly that kind of Saturday Night Fever vibe you want to think about with this key look. Sequins, hot-pants, bright neons, Lycra, tight trousers, and my favourite item of all – the jumpsuit. Not forgetting platform heels and wedges to boogie the night away.

Loose fitting high-waisted trousers with a sequin top or a sparkly dress with killer platforms. It’s a great party look whether you go for original vintage or high street inspirations Glam Rock took all the shiny sparkly elements of disco and multiplied them by a thousand.

Think bright silver leather catsuits with knee high platform boots and make up that even a clown would shy away from.

Going into the late 70s, punk fashion was rebellious – ripped clothing held together with safety pins, slogan T-shirts, mini skirts, leather and chains.

Simply incorporate a leather or military jacket, a ruffled top, coated jeans or a little satin into your wardrobe for a nod towards the era of glam.

Boho Hippy is most definitely the most wearable trend that most of us already have elements of in our wardrobe.

Loose, flowing and free, the boho look is perfect for summer and you can easily mix original vintage with modern high street to make this your own. You can pick up some amazing boho accessories at My Vintage too.

We also have lots of amazing original 70s clothing in many sizes that look as good today as they did 40 years ago.
