A LONG-lost memorial to more than 70 Blackburn soldiers who died in the Great War is being remade ready for a dedication at Blackburn Cathedral on Sunday, August 3.
And now the search is on for relatives of the former members of what was then Blackburn Parish Church, who might wish to attend the unveiling and rededication.
Canon Sacrist Andrew Hindley, who has been in charge of the project, said: "The original memorial was moved when the cathedral was undergoing extensive renovation work 50 years ago and now all that remains is three engraved panels.
"Some relatives of the fallen must still be living in East Lancashire and we would love them to get in touch with us and, hopefully, attend the special service."
