Nick Pope 7

Showed great positivity in coming for crosses and claiming to relieve the pressure on the back four.

Phil Bardsley 7

Kept his place ahead of the fit-again Matt Lowton and turned in another solid display at right-back

James Tarkowski 5

Maybe a touch unlucky with the penalty but didn’t need to tangle and was clearly rattled in the first half

Ben Mee 8 (Man of the Match)

Much better in dealing with Murray’s threat, keeping his composure and staying strong aerially. Displayed some good ball skills at times as well. Good to have him back.

Charlie Taylor 6

Booked for a rash tackle on Knockaert and crossing was wayward when he managed to get forward.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson 7

One of few bright lights going forward. Tested Ryan in the first half and led a good counter in second.

Jack Cork 7

Solid if unspectacular performance. Beaten aerially a couple of times but never likely to be a strong point.

Steven Defour 7

A little surprising to see him go off but occasionally rattled today, including one rash clearance

Scott Arfield 6

Set up chance for Gudmundsson in the first half but rarely involved in an attacking sense

Jeff Hendrick 6

Better than of late and improved when dropped deeper to partner Cork after Defour’s departure.

Chris Wood 6

Had Burnley’s best chance to win it but couldn’t get the better of Ryan. Hold-up play not as good as usual.
