BURNLEY have been busy in the transfer market today, signing Clark Carlisle from Watford and selling Wayne Thomas to Southampton.
Thomas left this morning in a £1.2 million deal, but boss Steve Cotterill moved fast to find a replacement.
And he said he was delighted with the new acquisition.
He said: "The signing of David Unsworth gave us a boost, but I knew this was going on with Wayne Thomas, so that is why I've brought Clarke in.
"I agreed a fee of £200,000 with Aidy Boothroyd the day of the Grimsby game, spoke to Clarke on Wednesday, and now I'm delighted to have him on board."
