ACCRINGTON Stanley are set to apply for funding for a £1.2m development at the Crown Ground.
Stanley are currently putting together plans to put a roof on the Coppice Terrace, which houses visiting supporters, putting the entire ground under cover.
In addition, there are plans to build new changing rooms and a control room as well as redeveloping the club car park.
The Reds are hopeful of getting funding from the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, which supports small businesses, and could also apply to the Football Foundation.
Stanley may have to put a small amount of money in themselves but hope the work will give the ground a facelift and make it more attractive for future stadium sponsors.
The Crown Ground has been without a sponsor since Fraser Eagle went into administration, although the club are hopeful of announcing a new deal within the next month.
