BURNLEY manager Eddie Howe praised new signing Keith Treacy for a match-changing performance against Watford on Saturday.
The 22-year-old came off the bench to salvage a point, effectively making the first one for Charlie Austin before scoring the equaliser on his debut, after the Clarets had trailed 2-0 at Turf Moor on the opening day.
It was a rare towering header for the winger, who has now met up with the Republic of Ireland squad for their game against Croatia on Wednesday, and Howe smiled: “Keith showed a snippet of what he’s about, although I said to Jason (Tindall) when it went in, I didn’t know he had that in his locker!
“I knew he had the ability but that was a great finish and a good ball in by Ross Wallace.
“I thought he was excellent when he came on and gave us another dimension and played a part in both goals obviously.
“He looked a real threat. It’s just a shame the game couldn’t go on longer.”
