YOUNG Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean has described his England under 20s debut this week as the proudest moment of his career so far.
Kean – no relation to Rovers boss Steve Kean – was one of three Rovers players to feature as England lost 2-1 to France in Shrewsbury.
Josh Morris was also in the starting line-up, while Jason Lowe was a second-half substitute as England prepare for the Under 20s World Cup in Colombia in July.
Kean, who had never previously represented England, said: “It has been the best moment of my career so far. I’m so proud.”
Kean impressed on loan at Hartlepool earlier in the season and said: “I had a brilliant time at Hartlepool but I’m excited to be back at Blackburn.
“I’m training with the first team and it has been really good.”
