COLOMBIAN international forward Edixon Perea has arrived at Brockhall to start a trial with Blackburn Rovers – and the club have also made an offer for an unnamed striker.
Rovers are keen to add another striker to their ranks before the closure of the transfer window, and 26-year-old Perea joins Benjani on trial at the club’s training ground.
Rovers have already brought in Mame Biram Diouf on loan but were thwarted in two bids for an unnamed striker before the start of the season.
It is understood they have now made an offer for another forward, although they are refusing to reveal his identify for fear of alerting other clubs.
Rovers are still considering whether to make a bid for Bulgarian striker Ivelin Popov, who has returned to Litex Lovech after a trial, and they have also been linked with Bolton wide man Matt Taylor. But, while Allardyce is thought to admire the left footer, no move is imminent.
Rovers have denied an interest in Jonathan Greening.
