Iranian midfielder Andranik Teymourian has given up hope of signing a short-term deal for Blackburn Rovers after having his application for a work permit turned down.
Allardyce was keen to attempt to revive the Premier League career of his former Bolton midfielder but has been forced to give up due to visa problems.
Teymourian’s representative, said: “Andranik is devastated but a work permit could not be got. Blackburn did everything they could.”
