ACADEMY manager Bobby Downes has left Blackburn Rovers.
Downes joined Rovers in 1997 and oversaw the conversion to Academy status, but has now left by mutual consent.
A number of players – including David Dunn, Martin Taylor, Paul Gallagher and Matt Derbyshire – progressed from the Academy to the first team during his time at the club.
Head of coaching Gary Bowyer will assume responsibility for the Academy until the appointment of a new Academy manager.
