Rovers are in talks with Bradley Dack over a new and improved contract after a stunning first season at Ewood Park.
The League One player of the year is understood to be happy to commit his future to Rovers in a boost to boss Tony Mowbray.
His 18 goals helped fire Rovers to promotion and discussions over a new deal remain ongoing.
Dack signed from Gillingham for an initial £750,000 last summer when he penned a four year deal.
But Mowbray, whose influence Dack has praised throughout the season, is keen to reward those who played a key role in helping Rovers to promotion with new contracts.
That includes 24-year-old Dack who enjoyed a trophy-laden first season in East Lancashire.
He was named League One player of the year for the second time in three years and also included in the EFL and League One teams of the year for 2017/18.
The talented attacker was also named the PFA fan’s player of the year and in the PFA League One team of the year.
Rovers are keen to hold on to one of the EFL’s top talents and retain the services of one of their key assets.
Speaking last week of ongoing transfer talks, chief executive Steve Waggott said: “They are part of the journey and they deserve to be rewarded.
“We’re looking at all of those and looking to get them done quickly as possible.
“There are ongoing discussions with their agents.”
Dack will be playing Championship football next season for the first time and he has been backed to flourish by Mowbray.
Indeed, the Rovers boss has previously tipped Dack to play in the Premier League in years to come given the quality he possesses.
The fee Rovers paid last summer now appears to be something of a bargain and the club are keen to hold on to one of their star men.
A contract extension for Dack would be one of Rovers’ most positive bits of business in the summer as they await their first new addition after promotion.
Mowbray is looking to add players of a similar profile to that of Dack in the transfer market in preparation of life back in the Championship.
