Coped well with Crouch and showed very neat feet early on. A real threat in the opposition box as well

Tested by Diouf’s movement but made one fine recovery tackle on him in the first half

A couple of clashes with Crouch and Stoke regularly looked to exploit the space around him

Sloppy first-half pass to Diouf nearly put his side in trouble, but tidy after that and combative in middle of the park

Easily Burnley’s most creative force. Unlucky not to beat Butland with a first-half free-kick and set-piece deliveries constantly on the money. Plenty of space to run into in the second half and he used it well to drive the Clarets forward. Could have won it late on

Another goal to his fine recent form. Clashed with Shawcross and Martins Indi, the latter needlessly so

Chris Wood 6

Living on scraps, with one shot straight at Butland, but ran the channels to offer an out ball
