BURNLEY have not made a bid for Barnsley centre back Marc Roberts.
Reports have suggested the Clarets are close to tying up a £3.5million deal for the 26-year-old, but the Lancashire Telegraph understands no bid has been lodged with the Tykes and a deal is not likely.
Sources in Yorkshire had said that Burnley and West Brom were interested in the former Halifax defender.
Roberts has 18 months remaining on his deal at Oakwell and limped out of Barnsley's FA Cup third round replay defeat to Blackpool last night.
The Clarets have no urgency to strengthen in the centre of defence in this transfer window, with Michael Keane, Ben Mee and James Tarkowski all competing for places, while Kevin Long's knee injury will only keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks.
