BLACKBURN Rovers talisman Rudy Gestede has been passed fit to start this afternoon’s Lancashire derby at home to Wigan Athletic.
The striker sat out the 3-1 defeat at Wolves before the international break after going over on his ankle and hurting his knee the afternoon before the game.
But after returning to training this week Gestede will take his place alongside Jordan Rhodes in the Rovers attack.
Gary Bowyer also recalls left back Markus Olsson, who missed the Wolves match due to a family bereavement, and fit-again centre back Matt Kilgallon.
Jason Lowe is out with a foot injury, Lee Williamson drops to the bench, while Adam Henley is not included in the matchday squad.
Rovers boss Bowyer’s trio of deadline day signings, goalkeeper Jason Steele, centre back Shane Duffy and midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe, are named among the substitutes.
Wigan, who come into the game on the back of back-to-back homes wins, make two changes.
Midfielder William Kvist and striker Andy Delort come in for their debuts.
Rovers: Robinson, Baptiste, Hanley, Kilgallon, Olsson, Marshall, Evans, Cairney, Conway, Rhodes, Gestede. Subs: Steele, King, Varney, Williamson, Taylor, Duffy, Tunnicliffe.
Wigan: Carson, Perch, Boyce, Ramis, Kiernan, Taylor, Huws, Cowie, Kvist, McManaman, Delort. Subs: Al Habsi, Tavernier, Riera, Maloney, Barnett, Forshaw, Waghorn.
