CHORLEY tonight lost the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy final 4-1 to holders AFC Fylde at the Reebok Stadium.
Andy Russell, against his former club, opened the scoring in the 28th minute and set up Harry Winter to put Fylde back in front in added time at the end of the first half after James Dean had brought Chorley level in the 42nd minute.
There were no further goals until the 87th minute when Michael Barnes raced away to effectively kill the contest.
And Fylde rubbed salt into the wounds of their Evo-Stik League Premier Division title rivals by notching a fourth in injury-time, again scored by Barnes.
