BLACKBURN Rovers have taken former Tranmere defender Will Vaulks on trial from Scottish Championship outfit Falkirk.
Wirral-born Vaulks, 20, was released from Tranmere in November 2012.
But he made a swift return to full-time football three months later after impressing Falkirk scouts while playing for non-league Workington in the Conference North.
Now the full-back or centre-back has the chance to impress Rovers boss Gary Bowyer at Brockhall.
Falkirk manager Gary Holt said: “I don’t want to lose him, or anyone at the club, but we know the situation here and if an offer was to come in we’d have to look at it.
“Blackburn is a big club and it’s a big opportunity for Will.
“He won’t go down there unknown to the Blackburn manager Gary Bowyer – they’ll know all about him.
“A trial period isn’t unusual. Clubs often do it with young players to assess them closely and monitor how they fit and settle with the group and how they handle training.”
Rovers have been linked with a loan move for Liverpool winger Jordan Ibe.
But there has been no official approach to bring the 18-year-old to Ewood Park.
But with Liverpool keen to send Ibe out on loan to a Championship club to further his development, it is believed it is something Rovers could consider.
But for now Bowyer’s main priority is attempting to move on players who do not feature in his first-team plans.
