STANLEY midfielder Amine Linganzi is expected to play in this afternoon’s clash with Burton Albion despite the sudden death of his brother just hours before Friday’s win over Wycombe.
The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder will fly back to France for the funeral of his brother after the game.
Reds boss Leam Richardson paid tribute to the 23-year-old for bravely deciding to play on, both on Friday and today, and said the Wycombe win was in his honour.
“We’d like to dedicate at Wycombe to Amine and his family after the bereavement he’s had,” said Richardson. “Huge respect goes to the lad for playing. It shows the type of person and the type of character he is.”
