A ROAD safety course for horseriders will be held on Sunday, August 25 at Barkers’ Farm on Churchill Avenue, Rishton.
The course was organised following complaints of irresponsible riding by a minority.
It will run from 10am to 1pm.
Co-organiser Vicki Norman said: “At the moment we are only opening this to residents with horses stabled at Barkers’, but if it is successful then I hope we will be able to do a more public event somewhere and involve the local police to increase awareness of the rules of the road.” Coun Ken Moss said: “It will make people more aware of how to ride out of the highway.
“It’s just on one farm but they’re hoping to roll it out.”
