CHILDREN from St Peter and St Paul’s CE Primary School have been learning about Rishton’s history as part of a ‘locality week’.
Guests, including PC George Lowe, went to the school to talk about the village’s past.
PC Lowe showedequipment from his days in the police force in the 1970s including truncheons and handcuffs.
Pictures of the infamous egg smash in 1957 were also displayed. A vehicle carrying hundreds of eggs overturned outside what is now the Auberge Restaurant. Families feasted on eggs afterwards.
