HOMES and businesses in Rishton were without electricity after a power cut in the town.
It is thought 76 properties were affected by an underground cable fault just before midnight on Wednesday. The Lemon Tree Cafe in High Street, Rishton, took to Facebook to announce it had been forced to close, while residents on Spring Street, Walmsley Street, Edward Street and houses on ten other roads also reported outages.
Engineers from Electricity Northwest fixed the problem.
A spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience. If anyone has issues with their power, they can call us on 0800 195 4141 or visit us at www.enwl.co.uk.”
