A CARAVAN parked in front of a house in Euxton Lane, Chorley, was destroyed in an early morning blaze.

Firefighters from the town, and from nearby Bamber Bridge, were called to the main road at around 2.30am.

A passer-by had alerted the home's occupier, who had escaped without harm, a fire service spokesman said.

The caravan was destroyed in the blaze, which also spread to the front of the house it was parked in front of.

"At this point, we suspect the fire was started due to an electrical fault but we are investigating," the spokesman said.

The two fire crews were on the scene until around 5am.
