ANTI-fascist campaigners have redoubled their efforts across Pendle ahead of Thursday’s countywide elections.
Thousands of supplements have been delivered by the Hope Not Hate organisation to households in the borough in advance of the county council vote.
Borough councillor Brian Parker is standing in Pendle Central for the British National Party, against Labour’s Graham Lord, Conservative Tommy Cooney, Liberal Democrat Dorothy Lord, and Gary Topping, for the British Democrats.
And town councillor John Rowe is bidding for Pendle East, facing opposition from Sheena Dunn, of Labour, the Lib Dems’ James Kerrigan and Conservative Paul White.
The supplement, sponsored by the National Union of Teachers, features messages of support from celebrity backers like Fiona Phillips and national newspaper columnist Brian Reade, alongside multi-cultural pieces on local issues.
Campaigners from Hope Not Hate have also been conducting street-level awareness drives in Pendle and neighbouring Burnley, before the polls.
