FIREFIGHTERS were called to a smoking bus in Blackburn at lunchtime.
Two appliances from the towns fire station were despatched to the incident on Park Road at 11.41 am.
The driver of a single decker bus had pulled up and evacuated his passengers after noticing problems with the engine which then began to smoke before flames appeared.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters used one hose reel and one breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported."
