BLACKBURN College has been recognised with a Beacon Award for its excellence in teaching and learning.
The prestigious award has only been presented to 14 colleges this year and Blackburn is one of just five in the North West to achieve it.
The Beacon Status acknowledges the work within the further education and skills sector and allows organisations to share their expertise and knowledge with each other.
The accolade, along with the college’s recent Ofsted report which rated it outstanding, puts it among the top five per cent of all Learning and Skills Council-funded providers.
Principal Ian Clinton, said: “We are delighted to receive this award and are pleased that our hard work and dedication has been recognised.”
