A FAMILY were rescued by firefighters from their flat after a car crashed into the front door.
The tenants living in an upstairs flat on the corner of Hebrew Road and Devonshire Road, Burnley, called the fire service at around 5.30pm on Saturday after they heard a loud bang and saw smoke coming from downstairs.
Fire crews attended and found a silver Honda Civic which had smashed into the front door of the building.
Sultan Alam, who owns the property, said: “The tenants thought it was a fire. When the car hit the building there was smoke coming from the bonnet.”
A spokesman from Lancashire Fire Service said: “One car was in collision with a property. Four people were led to safety from the property using a ladder.”
