AN East Lancashire nightclub is celebrating netting another global superstar act in the shape of the Backstreet Boys.
Accrington club Level One has announced the band will perform next month, the latest of a long line of major acts to come to the town.
The world-renowned boy band are to perform at the MEN Arena, but will be travelling to Accrington for a second performance and to hold their official after party at the Warner Street venue.
The club say they are also in discussions with New Kids On The Block to appear on the same night, as they are currently touring with the Backstreet Boys.
Just a few months ago, the nightspot held a sell-out show for hip hop and rap Grammy Hall of Fame icon Grandmaster Flash.
Level One has also played host to MTV superstars Dirty Sanchez, the cast of TV’s Shameless, the Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Pope and the platinum award-winning DJ Sash. Owner Leon Kelly said the Backstreet Boys booking was the result of months of negotiations.
He said: “It took three months of really hard work behind the scenes. People don’t realise the strict conditions that are imposed on the running of these events and also due to the magnitude of them, I had to work very hard.
“When we got the confirmation the boys had agreed to come to the town, I was in absolute shock. I was sat in the town centre having a coffee and their management rang to say ‘You’ve got the Backstreet Boys’.”
The event will consist of Howie D and Nick Carter DJing in the club before the band.
Tickets for the show on Tuesday, April 24 are £25 from the club or via contacting the club at info@levelonenightclub.co. uk or on 01254 389126.
