MORE than 70 firefighers are tackling a huge moorland fire.
Thirteen fire crews are fighting the blaze on the Belmont Moors just off Belmont Road, Belmont.
The emergency services were called to the incident at just after 10am today after reports of smoke drifting across local roads.
Police have cordoned off Belmont Road. A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received the call at 10:05am to the fire, which is covering an area of ‘several square miles’ and has resulted in smoke being blown towards Chorley.
"Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for most of the day."
