Firefighters had to rescue a cat which got stuck up a tree in Darwen yesterday.

The rescut took place in woodland behind Weaver’s Muse at around 1pm.

A spokeswoman from Darwen Fire Station, said: “The cat had gone up the tree, slipped and managed to get wedged in the branches with its back legs.”
