VOTERS will today to decide the fate of a third of seats on East Lancashire councils.
All but one of the six councils in the area have seats up for election.
Seats are up for grabs on councils for Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
In Blackburn with Darwen, 21 seats are to be decided out of 24. Regeneration chief Andy Kay, education boss Dave Hollings, housing executive member Mohammed Khan and resources head John Milburn are among those up for election.
There are 11 out of 35 seats on Hyndburn Council up for election.
Here, the youngest district councillor in the country, Rishton Labour councillor Claire Hamilton, is up for re-election.
A total of 55 candidates are competing for 17 of Burnley Council's 45 seats.
Among those seeking re-election is Stuart Caddy, Labour leader of Burnley Council, and his Lib Dem opponent, Gordon Birtwistle.
In Pendle, 18 out of 49 seats are up for grabs while in Rossendale 13 out of 36 seats are being contested.
