PAUL Moulden signed on the dotted line for Accrington Stanley and admitted the non-League club had revived his appetite for football.

The much-travelled 28-year-old striker has scored goals at all levels in the League but admits he had become disenchanted with the game and left Rochdale at the end of last season.

A chance meeting with a Stanley player led to the former Manchester City and Oldham forward going to the Crown for training and now he hopes to spearhead their drive for Conference football.

He also aims to complement his new non-League career by starting up in business - opening a fish and chip shop. "This seems to be a good club, they make you feel at home," he said. "Football's football whatever the level and, while I would have preferred to have been playing in the League, you go where you are wanted.

"My enthusiasm for the game has been re-awakened here and I can't wait for the start of the season. Accrington really wanted me which was really good and I have already been impressed by the quality of the players here."

Moulden has a place in the Guinness Book of Records after scoring nearly 300 goals in one season for Bolton Lads Club as a youngster. It led to selection for England schoolboys.
