THE Preston North End Player Of The Year award dinner was well attended and on a night of extreme excitement and anticipation for the remainder of the season as PNE go in search of a place in the Premiership.
The awards went as follows:
The Young Player Of The Year award went to 17-year-old Andy Lonergan who made an impressive debut against Coventry City earlier in the season and who played such an important part in Preston's recent win against Watford.
Goal Of The Season award went to Preston skipper Sean Gregan for his goal scroed from 52 yards against Norwich City at Carrow Road to secure three valuable points for Preston.
The Players' Player Of The Year award went to top scorer Jon Macken, and no sooner had the Preston striker picked up the trophy than he was back again to receive the top prize of PNE's Player Of The Year trophy.
In conclusion, manager David Moyes was full of praise for his squad of players. He also paid tribute to players such as David Eyres and Michael Appleton who both played important parts earlier in the season before moving on to Oldham Athletic and West Bromwich Albion respectively.
