A CLITHEROE teenager faces a prison sentence for drinking a swift half.
An anti-social behaviour order banned Jordan Jeffries from having an open container of alcohol in a public place.
But a friend handed him the drink outside a town centre pub and his “20 second sup” was caught on CCTV.
Jeffries, 19, of Holden Street, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to breach of an ASBO.
He was bailed for the preparation of a pre-sentence report and the magistrates said they were not excluding custody.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said a police officer was directed to the Victoria Hotel by a CCTV operator who had seen Jeffries outside the pub drinking and smashing a glass.
Clare Knight, defending, said Jeffries was outside the pub with friends: “The CCTV footage shows one of his friends come out of the pub with a half-full pint glass in his hand,” said Miss Knight.
“He passes it to my client who knocks it back and then throws the glass away.
"He had it in his hand for less than 20 seconds and has already been in custody for over 60 hours.”
The magistrates heared that Jeffries had breached the ASBO on 23 previous occasions.
