A BLACKBURN student has landed her dream job as a TV presenter for the BBC.
Onatejiro Odudu, 20, also know as AJ, from Whalley Range, Blackburn will be on our screens early this year.
She will be co-presenting with Radio 1’s Reggie Yates in a six-part series The Almost Perfect Guide To Life.
The series, aimed at teenagers and their troubles, will be launched on BBC2 on Saturday.
But the up-and-coming presenter said she was determined to finish her degree in media production at Keele University.
She said: “University has been the best part of my life and I love the lifestyle.
“I have met some fantastic friends here so I wouldn’t give it all up just yet.
“A degree can help you for all sorts of reasons in the future.”
The former St Bede’s RC High School pupil started off as a ‘Blast Reporter’ for BBC Lancashire, reporting on nightlife, local artists and exciting goings-on in Lancashire.
And since then she has made appearances on a student radio show called Urban Bounce, and was part of the production team of BBC Switch’s the 5:19 show as their ‘Raving Reporter’.
She added: “I have always wanted to be a TV presenter and knew it would come one day, because I’ve always been determined.
"I can’t believe my luck.”
AJ is looking forward to co-presenting the ‘one stop guide’ to everything teenagers want to know.
She said: “It’s not easy being a teenager, there’s a lot to handle. Hopefully the show will help a lot of teens out there.”
AJ has also co-presented a three-part show Blast On Demand that is currently airing on BBC Two.
She said her five brothers and two sisters were proud of her.
“My family are so pleased for me and they are all so proud.
"Hopefully this won’t be my last project and there will be more success to come in the future.”
