A driver on the M65 was stopped for having an illegal number plate.

Lancashire police traffic officers said they stopped the driver of the Range Rover as the letters were not spaced correctly on the number plate.

A police spokesperson posted earlier today: “On the M65 near Burnley another driver who wanted to have their name displayed on the registration plate.

"Unfortunately, to do so meant the plate was not spaced correctly and did not conform to regulations.

“A £100 fixed penalty issued and referral to be made to DVLA.”
