Police have said a body found in Blackburn today (Thursday, January 25) is believed to be that of missing Thomas Green.
Earlier this month, Lancashire Police launched an appeal to help them find a missing man who hadn't been seen for more than two weeks.
Officers were called to the canal off Bolton Road earlier today as underwater search officers had found a body.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Evening all.
"Some sad news to bring you this evening.
"Police searching for missing Thomas Green have sadly found a body.
"The body was found earlier today (Thursday, January 25) in the canal off Bolton Road in Blackburn by underwater search officers.
"While the body has yet to be formally identified at this stage we believe it to be Thomas, 37, who went missing earlier this month.
"His family have been informed of the development and our thoughts are with them at this time."
Thomas was last seen around 2am on January 6 in the Asda car park off Grimshaw Park in Blackburn.
Following extensive police enquiries, officers are now appealing to motorists for dashboard mounted camera footage.
Police believe Thomas was at a bus shelter close to Jay's Properties in Bolton Road, Blackburn, some time between 4.05pm on January 5 and 12.30am on January 6.
